Arthur Rubinstein, the legendary pianist renowned for his interpretations of Chopin's works, pleasantly surprised us with his recording of Beethoven's five piano concertos. His performance captures the characteristic "cantabile" quality of his touch, combined with the rigor necessary for the successful execution of this repertoire.

The coherence of this collection is ensured by the fact that the recording was made in 10 days (from August 6 to September 16, 1956), at the same location (Manhattan Center in New York) with the same orchestra (Symphony of the Air) and under the same conductor (Josef Krips).

Rubinstein employs the composer's cadenzas as edited by Ferruccio Busoni, with some modifications. This magnificent remastering breathes new life into this nearly 70-year-old recording, competing with today's finest sound quality.
