Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35
Jascha Heifetz & Fritz Reiner (2024 Remastered, Chicago 1957)
1 disc(s) - 3 track(s)
Total length: 00:29:37
All the great violinists of the 20th century and of our time have made a point of recording Tchaikovsky's Opus 35, some even multiple times. The comparison, therefore, is at the highest level and cannot be exclusive.
This splendid remastered edition of Jascha Heifetz's version is our first choice. The "Lithuanian-American" artist displays ease, naturalness, a warm sound, and perfect technique. Since Paganini, there has not been such a magician on the violin, a musical "prodigy" who set the standards for nearly a century. Leader of several generations of musicians, Itzhak Perlman said about Heifetz in an interview: "When I spoke to him, I thought: I can't believe it, I am talking to God!"
Enjoy your listening
